Amanda Bynes has firmly dismissed a sensational rumor suggesting that disgraced Nickelodeon producer Dan Schneider impregnated her when she was just 13 years old.
The former star of “The Amanda Show” clarified to TMZ that a viral video, which purportedly showed her making these allegations against Schneider, was digitally manipulated.
Now 39, Bynes expressed her frustration to the outlet, stating that the creators of the edited video were spreading “lies for clickbait” purposes.
The controversial video, which has since been removed, was initially shared by a fan account. It featured a clip of Bynes sitting alone at a restaurant, accompanied by a caption reading, “The man I got pregnant with him [sic] at the age of 13! 😭.”
The video further escalated the rumor by cutting to a scene from “The Amanda Show,” showing a teenage Bynes in a bikini in a hot tub with Schneider, who remained fully clothed.
“PLEASE WATCH THIS. I’m sorry for not making your childhood happy again,” was written atop the video.
Bynes told TMZ that she did post the first part of the fan’s edited video, but she turned the camera to her boyfriend and did not include the jacuzzi scene at all.
Page Six has reached out to Schneider for comment but did not immediately hear back.
In last year’s “Quiet on the Set” doc, several former Nickelodeon stars claimed that Schneider allegedly fostered a toxic work environment and tormented and humiliated the cast and crew on his TV sets.
The “iCarly” creator denied the allegations but said he owed people a “strong apology” for his “embarrassing” past actions.
In May 2024, Schneider filed a lawsuit against the documentary producers and creators for implying he sexually abused Nickelodeon child stars.
According to a complaint obtained by Page Six at the time, the former “Zoey 101” producer accused Warner Bros. Discovery, Maxine Productions, Sony Pictures Television and more of making the trailer of the five-part docuseries a “hit job” against him, full of “false statements and implications.”
Nickelodeon cut ties with Schneider in 2018 amid reports he was “under a cloud of suspicion over the treatment of some younger stars of his shows.” The producer walked away with a $7 million payout.
