Significant drama has erupted between stars of two popular reality TV series. Demi Engemann, known for her role on Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, recently sparked controversy following her guest appearance on the latest season of Vanderpump Villa. During her stint, she became involved with cast member Marciano Brunette, leading to a whirlwind of speculation and intrigue.

Amidst circulating rumors of flirtation and a possible kiss, Demi has clarified her stance, stating that any physical interaction with Marciano was consensual. However, the situation has taken a legal turn, with Marciano declaring his intention to sue Demi for what he claims are defamatory statements.

Marciano elaborated on their initial connection, revealing that they hit it off during filming, which paved the way for their subsequent interactions.

Marciano Claims The Flirting Was Mutual

Marciano explained that he and Demi first connected while filming, and that things between them immediately clicked:

It all started on Vanderpump Villa, and it was a very mutual connection. [Demi] was very flirtatious, very touchy-feely with me, so she obviously was giving me the implication that everything was fine, and it was something that I didn’t feel weary of in any sort of way. It progressed from there.

“The first night we were playing truth or dare, someone dared me to kiss someone in the room, and she’s sitting next to me and we were already talking and engaging at that point. So I politely leaned over. I said, ‘Do you mind if I kiss you on the cheek?’ She says ‘Yes,’ so that was absolutely okay. She didn’t mind that whatsoever,” he noted. “From a physical aspect, though, nothing happened outside of that. And then the kiss on the lips when she left,” he added.

The saga was covered in the latest season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, where two of Demi’s castmates, Mikayla and Mayci, requested a sit-down with Marciano so he could set the record straight once and for all. (There was also drama when a rumor started that he’d slept with yet another SLOMW cast member, Jessi, but that was debunked after the pair took a lie detector test and showed their results.)

Marciano swore that his kiss with Demi was “little more than a peck, but nothing overly crazy.”

Marciano Fears His Reputation Will Be Damaged

In a conversation with The U.S. Sun, Marciano admitted that he was gearing up to take legal action against Demi if she didn’t take back her accusations. He shared with the outlet that he was worried the slander would have repercussions on his image and livelihood:

I’m taking this so seriously because it literally is so damaging to my name and possibly career. I still have a job, [and people] are coming up and questioning me about these accusations. They are worried, like, is it okay to still have me working for them? And that’s a very damaging thing to my life, because if I lose that job, then do I have to worry about getting a job elsewhere, knowing that maybe I was terminated for possibly, which I’m not, [being] a sexual offender?

Considering that news started to spread about how flirty Demi was with him, Marciano suspects that she made her accusations against him in order to save face herself. “It’s just crazy all the things that happened in there for her to then try and flip that narrative, because she felt like she had to protect her marriage,” he explained.

If legal proceedings move forward, Marciano says he’s grateful that the cameras covered so much of their time together, as he felt it would come in handy for discovery. “Nothing ever happened between me and Demi that was non-consensual. I never touched her, ever,” he insisted.

In the meantime, Demi has also maintained her innocence in the matter. In a post on Instagram, she described Marciano’s response as “absolute utter nonsense and lies being spewed about me.” She also wrote a note of gratitude for those who stuck by her and believed her end of the story.

“Thank you to my haters for allowing me to prove to myself how capable I really am and for giving me the opportunity to build even more self confidence, respect, and grit! What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, if you allow it to, every single time 🤍 also grateful to those who remain with common sense intact and can very clearly see through the bs,” she shared.
