Tara Reid remains firm in her assertion that she was drugged at a hotel bar in Chicago.
After law enforcement officials revealed they found no surveillance footage to support the claim that the “American Pie” star’s drink was tampered with, Reid spoke with Page Six to express her frustration over the lack of evidence.
“The bottom line is that no one ends up in a hospital, incapacitated for more than eight hours, after just one drink,” she emphasized in a statement released Wednesday night.
“The last thing I remember is having a single drink and then waking up in the hospital the following day with no memory of what happened,” Reid recounted.
The 50-year-old actress described the experience as the “most terrifying feeling” she has ever encountered.
“I felt so helpless. This has been a horrifying experience for me that is severely affecting my mental health. I cannot sleep over this it’s a very scary feeling not knowing what happened to me. I believe I was drugged. Something happened to me,” she insisted.
Hours before, Rosemont police alleged they had found no video evidence to support Reid’s claims.
“While video surveillance showed Tara Reid at the hotel bar, at no time did video show anyone tampering with or adding something to her drink,” the Rosemont Public Safety Department said in a statement Wednesday.
“We can confirm that a bartender covered her drink when she left the bar which is standard practice for bartenders to do.”
The police, meanwhile, are waiting for Reid’s hospital records to hopefully continue the investigation.
The department cannot “confirm at this time if or what specific chemical testing the hospital may have conducted.”
“We are working with Tara Reid to receive those records which she has also not received. Pending those results or further information coming forward, our detectives will follow up on those leads accordingly.”
However, they concluded their statement by noting that “no criminal act … has been committed” and they aren’t investigating anyone.
On Nov. 24, the “Andy the Talking Hedgehog” star claimed she was drugged during her stay in Chicago.
Video obtained by TMZ showed Reid — who has a history of substance abuse — being helped by a group of people into a wheelchair before she was later wheeled out of the hotel on a stretcher.
At the time, her rep told us that she had filed a police report, adding, “Tara is recovering and asks for privacy during this traumatic time.
“She also urges everyone to be careful, watch your drinks and never leave them unattended, as this can happen to anyone. She will not be making further comments at this stage.”
Reid also claimed to the outlet that she had “passed out for eight hours” after her drink was allegedly spiked.
“It’s just really scary. It’s for all — not just girls, but for guys, for anyone. You have to really be careful with your drink,” she warned.
“The whole thing is really scary. I’m just glad that I was in a public place. … And that there was security there to help me.”
