A 26-year-old man from Minnesota faces charges after allegedly killing a fellow partygoer during a New Year’s Eve celebration. The accused, Myron Allen Johanson, reportedly roamed the gathering while brandishing a firearm, repeatedly asking attendees, “Do you trust me?”

Tragically, 22-year-old Jorden Jonathan Boehm fell victim to this dangerous game. Witnesses say Johanson positioned his loaded gun beneath Boehm’s chin and posed the fatal question. Moments later, the firearm discharged, leaving Boehm with a neck wound that proved fatal.

According to the probable cause statement, guests at the party recounted seeing Johanson approach Boehm, place the gun under his chin, and utter the ominous query. The next sound was the gunshot, after which Boehm was seen bleeding profusely. One witness described turning around to see Johanson holding the weapon, exclaiming, “Oh s***, call 911.” Johanson allegedly fled to his bedroom with the gun following the incident.

A document detailing the probable cause reveals that approximately 10 guests were present at the party. Initially, the atmosphere was described as amicable, with everyone enjoying themselves. However, it was noted that Johanson persistently removed his black handgun from its holster to aim at fellow partygoers throughout the evening, creating an underlying tension.

The probable cause statement says that about 10 “invited guests” were at the party and the “everyone was getting along and having a good time throughout the evening. Except, they also noted, that Johanson was carrying a black handgun in a holster and was constantly taking it out and pointing at other guests throughout the evening.

“One witness stated that she watched the Defendant point the gun into the face of another and watched that person push the gun out of his face,” the document says. “Another witness stated that the Defendant was walking around pointing his handgun at people during the evening, including twice at himself. He stated that the Defendant walked up to him, dropped the magazine and pointed the gun at the top of his head and asked him ‘do you trust me’, which he responded ‘f*** no, I don’t.’”

Johanson laughed at him, pushed the magazine back in, and racked a round into the chamber just before walking up to Boehm.

The killer told police that the gun “went off” and that he cleared it and took it into his room, then called 911. He took officers into the bedroom and pointed out the gun, which was collected by the deputies.

Johanson has been charged with third degree murder and second degree manslaughter.
