Chris Noth became a household name thanks to his role as Mr. Big, the charismatic on-again, off-again love interest of Carrie Bradshaw on HBO’s acclaimed series “Sex And The City.” His portrayal captivated audiences from 1998 to 2004, and he later reprised the iconic character in two successful spinoff films, released in 2008 and 2010.

However, Noth’s relationship with his co-stars, particularly Sarah Jessica Parker, has reportedly soured over time. In a recent interview with People, the 71-year-old actor candidly expressed, “We’re not friends – I think that’s pretty obvious.”

But now, he has confirmed in a preview of his upcoming appearance on the Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson podcast, he no longer has any contact with his former costar Sarah Jessica Parker, who played Bradshaw.

The rift between Noth and Parker became more pronounced following allegations of sexual assault made against him by several women in late 2021. Noth revealed feeling a sense of abandonment from Parker during this tumultuous period.

Sarah Jessica Parker, who not only starred as the lead but also held the role of executive producer on “Sex And The City,” publicly distanced herself from Noth. She, along with fellow cast members Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, issued a statement condemning the allegations against him, marking a clear divide between the once-close colleagues.

Parker, who served as an executive producer on Sex And The City in addition to being it’s lead star, joined with her castmates Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon in denouncing Noth following the allegations against him.

The trio’s statement in December 2021 expressed their support for ‘the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences’ and said that they were  ‘deeply saddened’.

Noth told Robinson it was ‘disappointing’ to see his once close friends and costars  turn their back on him.

He explained: ‘The statement that they put out, which was nothing more than brand management, really… it was sad, it was disappointing, it was surprising.’

Noth said he had expected more from people he had worked with for many years.

‘Before you make that statement, you know me, you’ve known me all these years, give me a call so I can give you the real scoop about this,’ the actor said.

‘And that didn’t happen, and that was too bad.’

The Daily Mail has reached out to Parker’s representatives for comment but has yet to hear back.

Following the allegations, Noth’s character Big was killed off and removed from the SATC reboot And Just Like That.

The situation showed him who his ‘real friends are,’ he said.

‘What’s gained is good. You know where people stand and you know who your real friends are and who they’re not,’ Noth shared. ‘That’s important to know. I just know if it had been on the other hand, I wouldn’t have done that.’

Noth said treatment he received from his costars ‘was hurtful and it really affected everything.’

The scandal in late 2021 arose after two unnamed women accused the actor of sexual assaults in 2004 and 2015 in a report published in The Hollywood Reporter. 

Noth issued a statement denying any wrongdoing, saying, ‘The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false.’

‘These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago – no always means no – that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual.’

The consequences of the piece, though, were immediate; in addition to his removal from And Just Like That…, he was also fired from his upcoming leading role in the CBS procedural The Equalizer.

No criminal charges were ever filed against Noth yet the allegations had a massive impact on the way he was perceived by the public.

Earlier this month, Noth made headlines again when he acknowledged his ongoing disenchantment with Parker on social media.

After posting a gym selfie on January 9 with the caption ‘F&@k new years – LETS GO!!!!’, a follower replied, ‘You mean f*** SJP & her award right? lol.’

The post came two days after Parker was honored with the 2026 Carol Burnett Award at a Golden Globes-adjacent event. 

After his one-word response on social media raised eyebrows, Noth distanced himself from any controversy. 

‘My off the cuff slightly sarcastic response to a comment on the internet seems to have caused a tempest in a teapot,’ Noth he posted on Instagram. ‘It is not news. It is not worth all this discussion. 

‘It is a waste of time in a world where there are more important things to worry about.’

Noth in August of 2023 said he never sexually assaulted anyone, but confessed to stepping out on his marriage to wife Tara Wilson, 43. They are parents to two sons, Orion, 18, and Keats, five.

‘I strayed on my wife, and it’s devastating to her and not a very pretty picture,’ the actor told USA Today. ‘What it isn’t is a crime.’
