A man with an extensive criminal history was apprehended on Tuesday, accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in a Stuyvesant Town apartment building last week, authorities reported.

Germaine Parham, 33, was taken into custody in upstate New York by officers of the NYPD who are part of the US Marshals New York and New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force. The unsettling incident occurred in Manhattan’s StuyTown village on the morning of January 29, according to police and other sources.

The incident allegedly began around 11:45 a.m. when Parham approached the young girl at a building located at First Avenue and First Avenue Loop, a private residential area in the East Village. Police reports indicate that he then sexually assaulted her.

After the assault, Parham allegedly stole the girl’s cellphone and fled the scene. The teenager was subsequently taken to a hospital for medical care, as confirmed by the police.

Parham’s criminal record is extensive, with over two dozen prior arrests and an outstanding bench warrant, according to sources familiar with the case.

He was most recently nabbed on Jan. 8 for stealing roughly $1,835 worth of merchandise from a CVS in Midtown Manhattan. The case resulted in a bench warrant after he failed to return to court, sources said.

He has multiple other arrests stemming from drugstore robberies across the Big Apple.

The alleged rapist was sentenced in November 2025 to 30 days in jail for a knifepoint robbery at a CVS pharmacy in the Bronx, sources added.

Parham now faces a new laundry list of charges, including five counts of rape, robbery, attempted assault, predatory sexual assault, kidnapping, criminal possession of a weapon, and six counts of sexual abuse, authorities said.

The StuyTown apartment complex where the terrifying attack occurred boasts its own public safety office staffed 24/7 with multiple officers and “world-class amenities” including multiple fitness centers, 15 playgrounds, and an ice rink — with rents for 1-bedroom apartments starting at a whopping $4,873, according to its website.

The ritzy village administration sent out an update to residents after Parham’s arrest, vowing to increase public safety patrols and building checks after the “awful incident.”

“We just learned from the NYPD that they caught the suspect. We are grateful to the NYPD for their dedication and our ongoing partnership with the Department,” StuyTown wrote in a memo obtained by The Post.

“While this is a positive update, our community is still hurting, and we are angry over this awful incident. As parents and residents of StuyTown ourselves, many of whom raise children here and attend our local schools, this has deeply impacted all of us. We are heartbroken and share many of the emotions you are feeling,” the statement said.

The update promised “constant” public safety patrols of the complex and the installation of call buttons to the community’s public safety office at every building entrance.
