Just a week after being announced as a cast member for the upcoming series The Golden Life, Jill Zarin found herself unexpectedly removed from the lineup. Following the Super Bowl halftime show, Zarin sparked controversy by posting a video on social media where she harshly critiqued Bad Bunny’s performance. The decision to drop her from the show has left some insiders upset, while many on social media have expressed approval.

A source said fans are not happy about Jill Zarin’s firing

In the aftermath of the halftime show, Zarin condemned the performance as the worst she had ever seen, criticizing it for being in Spanish and lacking “literally no white people in the entire thing.” Although she quickly removed the video after receiving backlash, the repercussions were swift. The studio behind The Golden Life announced that she would no longer be part of the show.

Blink49 Studios released a statement to Variety explaining their decision: “In light of recent public comments made by Jill Zarin, Blink49 Studios has decided not to move forward with her involvement in ‘The Golden Life.’ We remain committed to delivering the series in line with our company standards and values.”

Despite the studio’s decision, a source close to Zarin criticized the move, arguing that it has angered many of her supporters.

“The internet is buzzing with support because fans were excited to see Jill make her return,” a source told In Touch. “E! acted hastily, not considering that Jill promptly removed the video. This setback won’t deter her. Jill’s popularity endures, and that won’t change.”

“Everyone on the Internet is up in arms because they love Jill and were finally getting her back,” a source told In Touch. “E! made a snap decision without even taking into account that Jill took it down right away. Jill will be back — this won’t keep her down. People love her. That will never change.”

How have people reacted to Jill Zarin’s firing?

While some people are surely disappointed by Zarin’s sudden exit from the upcoming series, a great deal of social media users have celebrated her departure.

“Oh this is fabulous news!” wrote one Reddit user.

“This is the best news I’ve heard all day lmao,” added another person.

Many people noted that Zarin has no one to blame but herself.

“[She] gets so arrogant when good things come her way,” one person wrote, adding, “She’s always been this way. She felt untouchable when news came out about the RHONY reboot and she thought saying racist things won’t get her in trouble. Well, she effed around and found out!”

“Lol I love when obnoxious, awful people dig their own grave,” added another person.

Some people said this should be Zarin’s final chance at getting on reality television. She has nearly made multiple comebacks since Bravo fired her after the fourth season of RHONY.

“It’s too funny because she’s been dying to get back on TV,” one commenter said. “She finally gets her old job back, then gets fired on her day off.”

“She’s so ridiculously ignorant it’s astounding! Good for E!” added another person. “Jill should never be on TV ever again. She’s a big mouth fool!

At this point, a return to The Golden Life by Zarin doesn’t seem likely. Dorinda Medley has already replaced her.

She said her firing feels unfair

Zarin spoke out after her firing. She believes that she shouldn’t have faced such significant repercussions because she quickly deleted the video.

“They didn’t even give me a chance,” she said. “I took it down right away. People make mistakes. I’m human.”

The Golden Life will now follow Medley, Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Kelly Bensimon, and Sonja Morgan in their new lives in Palm Beach.
