DeLAND, Fla. – A dramatic rescue unfolded in DeLand late Saturday night when a Volusia County sheriff’s deputy bravely pulled a woman from a burning home. The intense moment was captured on a bodycam video.

With assistance from a fellow deputy, Graham successfully dragged the woman to safety, according to sheriff’s officials.

The woman was taken to a hospital in serious condition.

“Great news: At last update, she was stable and expected to make a full recovery!” sheriff’s officials said in a Facebook post.

Graham was evaluated at the scene for smoke inhalation, but he did not require a trip to the hospital.

“Great job saving a life,” the Facebook post stated.

Authorities said the fire started in the kitchen and appeared to be accidental.
