On March 26, a whole host of features that have become fixtures of the app will become unavailable, including commenting on articles and saving articles and videos as user favorites. Profile settings will also be locked, as users will no longer be able to log in to their accounts as of the shutdown.
Official Dragon Ball App to Shut Down in March 2026
Fortunately, all the other major features that are staples of the Dragon Ball app will still be available to fans via the official Dragon Ball website. The announcement on the official Dragon Ball site notes that further updates on the app’s status will be posted on the same platform, leaving some fans wondering whether a replacement service is already in the works.
While fans will be losing one beloved part of their favorite franchise this year, 2026 is shaping up to offer some of the biggest developments in recent Dragon Ball history. During Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri in January, several major announcements were made, including that production had already begun on the long-awaited sequel to Dragon Ball Super, which looks to be adapting the manga’s Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga story arc.
Key art from Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol was showcased at Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri, with Goku and Vegeta both bearing Galactic Patrol emblems on their usual outfits. Based on production timelines for its predecessor, Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol is expected to premiere sometime in late 2027 or early 2028.
Dragon Ball fans can also look forward to an enhanced remaster and partial remake of the first Dragon Ball Super anime saga in the form of Dragon Ball Super: Beerus. The upcoming re-release is slated to arrive in the Fall, although there is no official release date attached to Dragon Ball Super: Beerus as of the time of writing.
New DLC for Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero was also announced at Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri, with new characters including Demon King Piccolo and Bardock, new Super Attacks, new stages, and even an entirely new gameplay mode all set to make their way into the game soon. Among the additions are a Mission 100 game mode set to be released this Winter, and a Survival Mode to be added next Spring.
