GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Two individuals were injured in a shooting incident this evening on NE 8th Avenue, but fortunately, their injuries are not life-threatening.
The Gainesville Police Department reported that officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of NE 8th Avenue around 6:25 p.m. on March 10 after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered two victims who had sustained gunshot wounds.
The initial findings suggest that the incident was a drive-by shooting. Both victims have been transported to a nearby hospital where they are currently receiving medical care.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to uncover more details.
