Hollywood is abuzz with excitement as the red carpet is unfurled for the Oscars, marking the approach of the film industry’s most glamorous night. This annual spectacle transforms Los Angeles into a hub of glitz, where the stars align under the spotlight of the Dolby Theatre.
Preparations for the grand event have been in full swing for weeks. On Wednesday, the much-anticipated iconic carpet made its debut, stretching an impressive 900 feet in length and 33 feet in width. This lengthy runway will soon host a parade of cinematic talent, from illustrious movie stars to celebrated directors, producers, and performers, all poised to capture the attention of media outlets from around the globe.
Adding to the excitement, Conan O’Brien returns as host of the prestigious 98th Academy Awards, taking the helm for his second time. Known for his sharp wit, O’Brien hinted that this year’s event will be unrestrained, promising a night where no topic or person will be off the table.
As anticipation builds, the world eagerly awaits to see who will grace the carpet and who will take home the coveted golden statuettes. With the Oscars drawing near, Hollywood stands ready to celebrate the magic of cinema once more.
He said that this time around, nothing and no one is off limits.
“This year, we’re gonna go maybe a little bit more ambitious with some things,” O’Brien said. “Last year… the fires and things like that. I was living out of a hotel so this year I’m hoping to get… we have some slightly bigger swings that we’re going to take.”
For now, the iconic carpet will be covered in plastic tarp as crews finish setting up the area before Sunday.
