Imams Council of Michigan condemns attack
The Imams Council of Michigan has issued a powerful denunciation of the recent assault at Temple Israel.
The council’s statement declared, “Any act of violence against a house of worship, whether within the United States or elsewhere, transcends faith, denomination, or community. Such actions are assaults on all people of faith and the core values of religious freedom and human dignity.”
Continuing, they emphasized, “Islam advocates for the safeguarding of all places where God’s name is honored. Regardless of the perpetrator or their intentions, attacking places of worship and endangering innocent lives are profoundly unethical and constitute a serious sin.”
Expressing solidarity, the Imams Council of Michigan affirmed, “We stand fully with everyone affected by today’s events.”
“In moments like these, our collective dedication to peace, compassion, and the mutual defense of each other must triumph over hate and violence,” they concluded.
