Sangamon County Animal Control in Springfield, Illinois, is seeking new homes for several dogs rescued from a situation involving suspected dog fighting.
Back in January, WCIA reported that authorities discovered 15 dogs inside a Springfield residence while executing a search warrant. Many of these dogs bore scars and fresh injuries typical of dog fighting, and tragically, three were found deceased.
Salenzio Q. Anderson, age 35, has been apprehended and is facing felony charges related to dog fighting. His legal proceedings remain in the pretrial stage.
