AUGUSTA, Ga – A tragic incident unfolded on Peach Orchard Road when a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in the 3600 block. The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office swiftly responded to the scene late in the evening.
Shortly after 10:00 p.m., law enforcement and emergency teams were dispatched to the site following reports of the accident. Upon their arrival, they discovered that the pedestrian had succumbed to injuries sustained from the collision. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have yet to release the victim’s identity, as they are in the process of notifying the family members.
Currently, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division is thoroughly investigating the incident to determine the factors that contributed to this unfortunate event.
