No spoilers here, but Chad Powers Season 2, Episode 6, “12th Quarter,” ends with the kind of juicy cliffhanger — or, in this case, facehanger, if you know, you know — that will leave fans of Hulu’s breakout football comedy desperate for answers.
So, what happens next? Are more episodes of Chad Powers on the way, or have viewers reached the end of the line with Chad/Russ (Glen Powell), Ricky (Perry Mattfeld), Danny (Frankie A. Rodriguez), Coach Hudson (Steve Zahn), Tricia (Wynn Everett), Gerry (Colton Ryan), and the South Georgia Catfish? Where do Chad and Ricky go from here? What exactly did Coach Hudson witness in that final moment? And does the team still have a shot at a national championship?
If you’re wondering how many episodes are in Chad Powers Season 2, whether Chad Powers Season 2 has an Episode 7, or if Episode 6 officially serves as the finale, you’re not alone. And, of course, there’s the biggest question of all: will Chad Powers return for Season 3? Here’s what we know.
Below, we break down the future of Chad Powers, including the Season 2 episode count, what’s been said about a possible Season 3, and what fans should expect next.
How Many Episodes Are In Chad Powers Season 2?
Just like Season 1, Chad Powers Season 2 consists of six episodes. The big difference this time is the release strategy: instead of rolling out weekly as Season 1 did, Hulu released all six Season 2 episodes at the same time.
Will There Be A Chad Powers Season 2, Episode 7?
Nope! We know it’s not ideal for a half-hour comedy to have such a short season, but Chad Powers Season 2 only has six episodes, not seven, not eight, not 10. That means Season 2, Episode 6, “12TH QUARTER,” was the Season 2 finale. Read on for Season 3 info!
Will There Be A Season 3 of Chad Powers on Hulu? Chad Powers Season 3 Renewal Status:
As of Season 2’s premiere date, Hulu had yet to officially renew Chad Powers for a third season, but that’s not to say it won’t happen. Co-creator Michael Waldron has said he and Powell have ideas for three seasons, so if given the opportunity to make more episodes, Waldron, Powell, and the team would love to continue!
While Season 1 got a 60% Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Season 2 got a perfect, Certified Fresh 100%. So it’s clear that critics (including Decider) loved the shift in tone, the twists and turns of Season 2, and those major cliffhangers that brilliantly tee up a third season. Season 1’s finale aired in October 2025, and Season 2’s renewal wasn’t announced until December 2025. So Season 3’s status may take a few months, but we have faith that Chad Powers will make another comeback. Stay tuned for updates!
When Does Chad Powers Season 3 Come Out? Chad Powers Season 3 Release Date Info:
Since Chad Powers hasn’t been officially renewed yet, there’s no Chad Powers Season 3 premiere date on the books right now. But after Season 1, Waldron told DECIDER that he and Powell would never want to make fans wait multiple years for another six-episode season.
“We want to make it on time, on schedule,” Waldron explained. “I don’t want this to be one of the shows that people have to wait forever for. There’s only it’s only six half-hour episodes. It’s not a long thing. We don’t want to withhold any longer than we have to.”
So if Chad Powers Season 2 is greenlit promptly, it sounds like fans could expect new episodes in 2027.
