CHICAGO (WLS) — A 15-year-old girl accused of pushing a man from a CTA train, resulting in his death, was ordered detained Saturday, according to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Kyle Bickham, 29, was on his way home from work when he was allegedly pushed from a moving CTA Red Line train near the 69th Street station during an altercation at about 2:40 p.m. Monday, police said. His family said he had been heading home at the time.
Investigators said Bickham fell onto the third rail before being struck by another train.
Chicago police said the teen was one of three people who allegedly used force to push Bickham from the train. She faces a first-degree murder charge, along with other charges.
The girl was arrested Friday and appeared in court Saturday for a detention hearing. She is scheduled to return to court Monday.
Family members remembered Bickham as a compassionate and hardworking man who cared deeply for his loved ones. The youngest son among four siblings, he enjoyed making others laugh and cherished time spent with family and friends, they said.

Bickham’s relatives gathered Sunday at the 69th Street Red Line station, urging witnesses and the two other people police believe were involved in his death to come forward and speak with investigators.
The CTA said no passengers or CTA employees on the bus were injured.
