Rachel Danis, Wife of Patrick Clancy, Addresses Speculation Over How They Met

Patrick Clancy’s new wife is standing beside him as renewed attention turns to the case involving his former wife, Lindsay Clancy.

Dr. Rachel Danis, a fertility specialist based in New York, will appear with Patrick in his first interview since Lindsay’s mistrial. Their conversation is set to air in a much-anticipated 60 Minutes segment on Sept. 20.

“I don’t understand how the story has been so twisted,” she said in a preview clip. “But, I would hope people know that Pat is, as I said before, the most selfless father and supportive partner.”

Rachel also appeared to respond to questions and online speculation about the beginning of their relationship.

“I was just a girl that met a guy running in Central Park on a really cold Saturday,” she said. “And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.”

Patrick Clancy Said He Still Talks to His Late Children

The 60 Minutes interview will also examine the devastating impact the deaths of Patrick’s children—Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months—have had on him. Years later, he said he still feels deeply connected to them.

“I talk to them,” he revealed in another preview clip

Asked what he says to his children, Patrick answered, “‘Help me.’ All the time.”

What Happened to Patrick Clancy’s Children?

Lindsay killed the couple’s three children with exercise bands on Jan. 24, 2023, while Patrick was out running errands.

Patrick said he returned to a home that felt unnervingly silent before searching the master bedroom for his wife.

“I just saw blood everywhere,” he testified, according to ABC 13, “and the window was open.”

After cutting her wrists and neck, Lindsay jumped from a second-story window at the family’s home in Duxbury, Massachusetts, in an apparent attempt to end her life.

While it’s not in dispute that she killed her children, her attorney has argued that was suffering from postpartum psychosis and is therefore not guilty by reason of insanity.

In the wake of the children’s deaths, Patrick described his “shock and pain.”

“I want to ask all of you that you find it deep within yourselves to forgive Lindsay, as I have,” he wrote in 2023, per CBS News. “The real Lindsay was generously loving and caring towards everyone – me, our kids, family, friends, and her patients. The very fibers of her soul are loving. All I wish for her now is that she can somehow find peace.”

The couple ultimately divorced and Patrick remarried Rachel in April.

Following a mistrial earlier this month, Lindsay’s next court hearing is scheduled for Sept. 29.
