Presley Gerber, the 27-year-old son of supermodel Cindy Crawford, died Sunday at a rehabilitation facility. The model had spoken publicly about his long-running struggles with addiction.
“The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time,” Crawford, his father, Casamigos tequila founder Rande Gerber, and his model sister, Kaia Gerber, 25, said in a statement. TMZ was the first to report his death.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed that Presley died at an undisclosed rehabilitation facility. An autopsy has not yet been completed.
Presley followed his mother into modeling, signing with IMG Models at age 15. He later made headlines for his battles with substance abuse and mental health challenges.
At 19, Presley was arrested for driving under the influence after police stopped him for speeding in Beverly Hills, California.
He pleaded no contest to the misdemeanor charge in July 2019 and received a sentence that included three years of probation, community service, and participation in a DUI program.
The following year, Presley was photographed at a drug-testing facility while completing court-ordered requirements related to his 2019 DUI case.
In 2024, the Beverly Hills-born model revealed that he had endured a severe, yearslong opiate addiction, including a near-fatal fentanyl overdose that left him in a coma for several days.
He later entered a rehabilitation program to receive treatment involving the psychedelic substance ibogaine.

That December, Presley said he was also dealing with dependence on prescription medication. He claimed that more than 15 psychiatrists had heavily medicated him without providing a structured path to recovery.
That same month, he shared that he had been sober from alcohol for five months.
Presley later began posting “Mental Health Mondays” videos on Instagram. In July 2025, he wrote about incorporating healthier habits into his life, according to People.
After returning to work, Presley said, “The quality of life rapidly decreased.” He added that it took him “10 years” to return to sports and fitness.
Just last month, his sister Kaia discussed her brother’s decade-long struggle with substance abuse.
“When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone,” the model said in an interview with Vogue.
“We have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, ‘I’m gonna be very human for everyone.’ There’s only so much you can hide from the world,” Kaia, 24, added.
“And trying to put a lid on something just makes the person feel like you’re ashamed of them.”
Representatives for Crawford and Kaia, along with the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
