Meghan Markle Showcases Luxurious Kitchen, Prompting Questions About Whether It’s Her New Home

Meghan Markle has given followers a glimpse of an elegant new kitchen in the latest promotional update for her lifestyle brand, As Ever.

The Duchess of Sussex, 45, appeared in a photograph shared on As Ever’s official Instagram account, stirring a copper pan in a sophisticated cooking space fitted with a stainless-steel range, oak cabinetry and delicate ceramic tableware.

“The season of giving is almost here, and we have a few surprises in store,” the caption read. The brand did not reveal what those surprises might be to its 887,000 followers.

Although the post did not identify where the image was taken, some fans believe the photograph may have been captured at Meghan and Prince Harry’s new Cotswolds property. The couple reportedly moved there from California in August.

Meghan posed before two wooden shelves stocked with a large chopping board, candles and stylish cooking accessories. Carefully chosen decorative touches helped create the warm, farmhouse-inspired look of the kitchen.

Two small jars of As Ever jam could be seen among the display, alongside the brand’s Mulling Spice Kits, which sell for about £12 each.

The room combined contemporary and traditional details, including a silver wall-mounted tap, white marble worktops and a pale wooden extractor hood that added a modern finish to the luxury kitchen.

Known for her enthusiasm for cooking, Meghan smiled at the camera with her hair pulled back. She wore a checkered skirt styled with a classic chef-inspired look, while a plated tart appeared beside her and a navy mixing bowl sat on the hob.

The polished space also featured greenery and fresh fruit, along with the large chopping board and what appeared to be a partially eaten pie.

Since moving with Harry and their two children from California to the Cotswolds during the summer, Meghan has shared occasional glimpses of their new life in Britain.

Last month, the Duchess posted a 34-second video montage featuring seven-year-old Archie and five-year-old Lilibet enjoying the autumn season in the UK.

Her latest lifestyle update follows the launch of a £112 advent calendar, illustrated with an image of the couple’s former California home. It marked Meghan’s first commercial venture since returning to Britain.

For the limited-edition As Ever product, Meghan teamed up with Los Angeles-based gourmet chocolatier Compartés. The calendar contains 24 chocolates.

Described as being inspired by Meghan’s Montecito home and garden, the calendar features a festive drawing of the £11 million mansion where she and Prince Harry lived for six years.

According to the product’s press release, every element was carefully designed, including countdown numbers hand-painted in Meghan’s own handwriting with edible gold lustre.

The chocolate selection includes strawberry, raspberry, blackberry and orange marmalade flavours, as well as a special chocolate decorated with Meghan’s signature flower sprinkles.

A dark chocolate ganache truffle from Compartés is also included. The brand said Meghan’s handwritten details were intended to make each daily opening feel like a personal moment.

Priced at $148, or £112, the advent calendar is due to go on pre-order in the US through the As Ever website from 5pm UK time, with deliveries expected to begin early next month.

Meghan’s business described this as the ‘latest chapter in an ongoing collaboration between the two brands’, after the $12 (£9) As Ever x Compartés chocolate bars.

Ahead of the product launch, Meghan shared a video of her Compartés boss Jonathan Grahm zooming around an unidentified estate on a golf cart on her Instagram Stories.

The duchess, who was behind the wheel, could be heard saying ‘Hang on!’ as Mr Grahm added ‘Stay tuned!’ and they enjoyed a laugh together.

The clip was set to Michael Bublé’s hit Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) and captioned ‘Christmas planning in June’.

Meghan also included early prints of the box’s artwork and footage of her beloved black Labrador Pula carrying an As Ever plushie toy in her mouth while the duchess lovingly stroked her head.

Ahead of launching the advent calendar, As Ever shared Meghan’s top hosting tips, which include having ‘as much prepped as possible before guests arrive’.

Meghan also advised saving one ‘simple task for the end’.

In an Instagram post labelled ‘Meghan’s Hosting Notes’, her As Ever firm suggested it should be: ‘Something you can finish in the kitchen while everyone settles in.’

It added: ‘A little preparation goes a long way toward making hosting feel effortless.’

The advice was accompanied by a picture of Meghan tying a white apron around her waist.

The duchess’ Netflix series With Love, Meghan, which offered recommendations for hosting, cooking and crafting, was panned by critics when it was launched alongside As Ever, which sells jam and flower sprinkles, in 2025.

Meghan welcomed her close friend Kelly McKee Zajfen to the UK last month, and Ms McKee Zajfen posted that the duchess has been given a ‘loving’ reception on her return, which has been ‘beautiful to witness’.

Last week, Harry and Meghan condemned ‘extraordinarily reckless’ international paparazzi who were seen looking into the grounds of their children’s school.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s spokesman accused two photographers of an ‘unacceptable intrusion into the privacy’ of Archie and Lilibet.

The young men were wearing backpacks and using a white van when they were spotted circling the perimeter and monitoring children by private security and school staff.

Harry and Meghan, who returned to live in the UK after six years in California, are waiting to hear whether they will be given taxpayer-funded security.

They pulled Archie and Lili out of their first-choice British school in September after just two days when heavy traffic in the area meant their private security team struggled to stay in a convoy during the school run.

The Sussexes stepped down as working royals in 2020 for personal and financial reasons but rumours remain rife as to why they unexpectedly relocated to the UK from California.

Speculation ranges from the couple wanting their children to develop a closer relationship with their grandfather King Charles, Meghan seeking a return to acting and the Sussexes wanting to increase their profile.

In the run-up to their return, Charles was said to be glad to be able to spend more time with the family but remained adamant they would not be working royals, and there was no half-in, half-out option.

Within two weeks of arriving, there was reported pushback from Harry and Meghan after a letter, authorised by the King, was circulated by the Lord Chamberlain to senior stakeholders in the Government and military reiterating the couple were ‘private citizens’ and setting out guidance on how they should be treated.

The duke and duchess were said to be ‘surprised’ by the formal letter and the couple, who are waiting to hear whether they will be given taxpayer-funded security, were reported to prefer the term ‘public figures’ instead.
