A man has been charged with murder after his wife was discovered dead at their home near the Sandringham estate, where she was reportedly hosting a sleepover.
Dr Hannah Cain, a 45-year-old GP, was found at the property in Dersingham, Norfolk, in the early hours of Sunday.
Her husband, Mark Cain, also 45, was arrested and has now been formally charged with her murder, the Crown Prosecution Service said.
Mr Cain remains in custody and is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court for an initial hearing on Wednesday morning.
Michael Devaney, a senior Crown prosecutor, said: ‘The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised the prosecution of Mark Cain, 45, for the murder of Dr Hannah Cain.
‘The decision follows an investigation by Norfolk Police into the circumstances surrounding her death at her home in Dersingham.’
Grimston Medical Centre, where Dr Cain worked, was closed on Monday. Staff said the decision was made because of ‘extremely difficult circumstances affecting our practice team’.
She was known professionally as Dr Hannah Terry and also provided services through Norfolk Sky Aesthetics, a cosmetic treatments company.

A statement posted on social media by the surgery said: ‘We are sorry to inform patients that Grimston Medical Centre, including the dispensary, is temporarily closed because of extremely difficult circumstances affecting our practice team.
‘We apologise for the disruption and thank patients for their patience and understanding during this exceptionally difficult period for our colleagues.’
Flowers and tributes were placed near the house as police officers and forensic investigators began examining the scene following Dr Cain’s death.
Residents described Dersingham as a quiet and close-knit community, saying they were deeply shaken by the tragedy.
One resident said Dr Cain had lived locally for about a decade and remembered her as ‘a lovely human being’ who was devoted to her three young children.
A neighbour in his 90s said he had rarely seen the couple, but described their two boys and younger daughter as ‘lovely’.
He recalled the children sometimes kicking a football into his garden, after which he would return it or allow them to search for it themselves.
Another resident, who has lived in the village for around 50 years, said serious crime was uncommon in the area.
‘Dersingham may not have a traditional centre, but it certainly has a heart,’ he said.
A further resident said the village was so safe that people could leave a car unlocked overnight without expecting anything to happen.
