Kelly Clarkson is criticizing a luxury store after an encounter she described as dismissive and insulting.
The Grammy-winning singer said she had a disappointing shopping experience at a high-end New York City establishment, comparing the treatment she received to the way Julia Roberts’ character, Vivian, was treated in the 1990 movie Pretty Woman.
“Just drove all the way to Brooklyn to check out this store I thought looked really rad and had a few things in mind to buy,” Clarkson wrote on X Oct. 10. “And literally was looked at as if I couldn’t afford it and was told he could find something comparable for me.”
“Wow, dude,” she continued. “You’re an idiot and just lost a huge sale.”
The “Stronger” singer identified the store and urged her followers to visit “if you enjoy being treated like Julia Roberts’ character in Pretty Woman.” She added a thumbs-down emoji and wrote, “For sure, check it out.”
E! News has contacted the store for comment but has not received a response.
