Jackson Olson is making it clear that he has no plans to repeat his latest misstep.
The Dancing With the Stars contestant addressed his recent controversy with humor, poking fun at his own bad luck one week after facing backlash for criticizing costar Guillermo Rodriguez’s dancing. Olson joked that being “canceled” was only one item on a growing list of problems.
In a TikTok posted Oct. 11, Olson filmed his professional dance partner, Emma Slater, walking out of the rehearsal studio alongside her boyfriend and fellow pro dancer, Alan Bersten. The pair lip-synced to “Gotta Go My Own Way” from High School Musical 2.
Adding to the joke, the Savannah Bananas player captioned the video: “When your dance partner has to leave you for her boyfriend.”

Olson also referenced his team’s Oct. 11 defeat against the Texas Tailgaters in the first-ever Banana Bowl championship. In the post’s caption, he wrote, “First I get canceled, then we lose the Banana Bowl and now this?!”
The playful post followed a since-deleted comment Olson reportedly left beneath a video of another athlete performing a routine originally danced by Rodriguez and his partner, Witney Carson. According to Cosmopolitan, Olson wrote, “Seriously how did you do this better than him with 2 hours of rehearsal.”
