Hailee Steinfeld Makes First NFL Game Appearance, Cheers Josh Allen

Hailee Steinfeld made a rare television appearance supporting her husband, Josh Allen, as she passionately cheered for the Buffalo Bills during their dramatic Monday Night Football clash with the Los Angeles Rams.

Allen and Buffalo found themselves locked in a heavyweight battle against Matthew Stafford, last season’s MVP, with the contest eventually heading into overtime at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

As the game entered its decisive stages, Allen orchestrated an impressive fourth-quarter drive, moving the Bills down the field and putting them in front.

Viewers watching on ABC and ESPN were then surprised when the broadcast camera cut to the Hollywood actress in an executive suite. Steinfeld was seen leaping to her feet and appearing to shout: “Go Josh! Let’s go Josh! Let’s f***ing go Josh!”

She clapped excitedly and pointed toward the field as Allen scrambled for a first down, later flashing a grin after taking Buffalo closer to the end zone.

Steinfeld appeared on screen again during overtime, visibly anxious after another powerful Allen run moved the Bills into field-goal range—just moments after Buffalo seemed destined for a heartbreaking defeat.

The Bills were handed a lifeline in overtime when Rams kicker Harrison Mevis had a potential game-winning field goal blocked. The miss came after a James Cook fumble appeared to have given Los Angeles the victory.

Stafford had engineered a late touchdown drive to send the game beyond regulation, but Tyler Bass ultimately secured a 37-34 Buffalo victory with a 45-yard field goal, sparking celebrations for Allen and Steinfeld.

Steinfeld has generally avoided becoming part of the spotlight surrounding the Bills quarterback’s career. That low profile briefly changed in Los Angeles when television cameras caught her watching from a suite at SoFi Stadium.

The actress has previously posted photos from Highmark Stadium while supporting Allen, and fans have occasionally filmed her in private suites. However, she has largely avoided appearing on the official game broadcast.

That approach has widely been viewed as intentional, allowing Steinfeld to remain out of the headlines while her husband takes center stage on the football field.

Her limited broadcast presence stands in sharp contrast to Taylor Swift, who has regularly featured on television during Kansas City Chiefs games while supporting her husband, Travis Kelce, in recent seasons.

Steinfeld and Allen began their relationship in May 2023, became engaged in November 2024, married in May 2025 and welcomed their first child in April this year.

The actress has described the different schedules created by her film career and Allen’s football commitments as a “blessing,” since the timing allows them to support one another at different points of the year.

Speaking to Variety last year, Steinfeld said: “What we do is so unpredictable, and his job is on such a strict schedule.

“So it’s actually a blessing. I try to organize my time so I can be where he is. At this time of year, I get to settle in, slow down, support him and enjoy life. When the offseason arrives, it’s time for me to get going.”

She added: “I’ve never experienced this part of life before, outside of my work. I’ve become much better at understanding the value of slowing down and sharing that time with someone. That’s the greatest thing ever.”

Before the season started, and with their new daughter, Harper Haize Allen, now in their lives, Allen shared how they planned to get through the season as a family.

He told E! News before the season: ‘I can’t tell you exactly how I’m going to feel right at this moment, but it’s going to be obviously a lot of FaceTimes, a lot of calls. I don’t want to miss anything.’

He hailed his ‘supportive partner’ for allowing him to stay focused on the season, adding: ‘When we were back in Buffalo for OTAs. Just making sure that I could go to the facility, get my work done, be with the guys and understanding what that was for.’

He credited his wife with helping him ‘find that balance’ as a new parent and said he was ‘trying to ride the wave right now and enjoy’ their time together before the season started.

He shared his plan was ‘just maintaining a positive mindset throughout the whole year.’

Allen hailed Steinfeld’s impact in his MVP season in 2024, saying at the time: ‘She’s been a huge part.

‘The morale, the support. When I get home, she’s my biggest fan, my biggest supporter. She’s just the best.’
