Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber Speak Out After Son Presley’s Death

Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber have broken their silence following the tragic death of their 27-year-old son, Presley.

“We are beyond heartbroken to lose our beloved son and brother,” the family wrote in a tribute shared on Crawford’s Instagram Sunday. The post included a black-and-white image of Presley depicted with angel wings.

“We feel so blessed to have had Presley in our lives for 27 years. He is a sweet, beautiful soul who loved and is loved, now and forever. We are so proud of how he showed up in the world, with kindness and vulnerability,” his parents continued.

Crawford also thanked “the outpouring of love and support from so many who know and love our family and even strangers who feel our pain.”

“Til we meet again our sweet boy. We love you forever, Mom, Dad and Kaia 🪽,” the statement concluded.

Presley died Sept. 20 at an undisclosed rehabilitation facility in what is suspected to have been an overdose. Officials have not yet confirmed a cause of death.

He is survived by his sister, actress and model Kaia, 25, along with his mother, former supermodel Cindy Crawford, 60, and his father, businessman Rande Gerber, 64. The couple married in 1998 and welcomed Presley, their first child and only son, in 1999.

Before his death, Presley spoke publicly about his struggles with addiction and mental health.

Appearing on the “Studio 22” podcast in 2023, Presley said he had dealt with “mental health, depression and some other things that come along with that.”

He said he had spent “a lot” of time in therapy over the years, working to “look into myself.”

“It is such a big part of my life. It’s a 24/7 job, and there’s so much to it.”

According to The List, Presley also discussed his recovery journey on Instagram Stories in 2024, referring to “dealing with [a] current, very high opioid addiction.”

In March, he said he had “started finding [his] way back to [him]self.” Presley added on Instagram, “We shall see. Praying it’s the last time I have to come back [to treatment]. Next time I’d like to choose.”

About a month before Presley’s death, Kaia publicly commended her brother for being open about his personal challenges.

“My parents for most of our lives were very, very private and didn’t share anything — and now we have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, ‘I’m gonna be very human for everyone,’” Kaia told Vogue in August 2026.

The actress, known for “The Shards,” said Presley’s struggles were “why I started to self-identify as the easy one and never wanted to ask for help.”

After news of Presley’s death emerged Sunday, Kaia and her parents issued a joint statement asking for “privacy during this very difficult and painful time.”
