Alexis Skyy Shares Sweet Tribute to Daughter Alaiya: “God Gave Me You”

Alexis Skyy is reflecting on the profound impact her daughter, Alaiya Medford, has had on her life. On Saturday, the reality star shared a collection of photos of her 8-year-old daughter on Instagram alongside an emotional tribute to motherhood.

Skyy wrote that Alaiya came into her life before fame, businesses, cameras and personal achievements, describing her daughter as a gift from God who shaped the woman she continues to become.

Addressing her daughter directly, Skyy said Alaiya had introduced her to a new kind of love and strength while giving her a purpose greater than herself. She also expressed hope that Alaiya would one day understand how deeply she had transformed her mother’s life.

The proud mother went on to explain that Alaiya has helped carry her through some of her most difficult moments.

Skyy recalled days when she felt exhausted, cried privately and was unsure how she would manage everything. Yet, she said, looking at Alaiya always reminded her of the reason she could not give up.

She also made her daughter a lasting promise.

Skyy vowed to remain Alaiya’s safe place, strongest supporter, protector and advocate. She said she would spend her life making sure her daughter understood that she was loved, beautiful, special and capable.

The mother of one closed the tribute by saying she would choose Alaiya in every lifetime and every version of the world, calling her “my heart outside my body” and affirming their enduring bond.

Alaiya Grace was born in January 2018, three months premature, to Skyy and businessman Brandon Medford. During an extended hospital stay, doctors diagnosed her with hydrocephalus, a condition involving an accumulation of fluid in the brain.

When Alaiya was 1, she underwent emergency surgery to repair a shunt designed to drain the excess fluid. She was later diagnosed with a mild form of cerebral palsy, which Skyy has linked to a brain bleed.

In March 2025, Skyy observed Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month by sharing a video in which Alaiya discussed living with the condition. In the clip, the young girl encouraged viewers not to give up, saying that if she could overcome the odds, they could do the same.
