Report Alleges Thomas Markle, Meghan Markle’s Father, Hid Child Sexual Abuse Material in Disturbing Location

Meghan Markle’s estranged father, Thomas Markle Sr., allegedly had a cache of child sexual abuse material stored with personal family keepsakes at his home in the Philippines, according to his son, who says he uncovered the material.

Thomas Markle Jr. reportedly contacted authorities in July after allegedly discovering “hundreds if not thousands” of offensive images, The Sun reported Thursday.

In an account provided to investigators, Markle Jr. said the material had been hidden in four boxes at his father’s Cebu residence, alongside family memorabilia.

The boxes reportedly contained VHS tapes of family videos, books, nine mobile phones and the Emmy Awards Thomas Markle Sr. earned during his television career, Markle Jr. told a friend, according to The Sun.

Markle Jr. said some of the books held more disturbing contents, including images of naked children he had never seen before.

The UK publication reported that an image allegedly showing a child being sexually abused was found inside an antique book titled “Lewis Carroll Photographs Of Children: Four Nude Studies.”

Markle Jr., Meghan Markle’s half-brother, said he was searching for a phone when he allegedly found a 15-minute video containing child sexual abuse material on an LG handset.

According to the report, the children shown in the video appeared to be no older than 10 or 11.

The phone also allegedly contained three images of girls believed to be around the same age, either nude or wearing very little clothing, The Sun reported.

One of the images reportedly showed the screen of a Lenovo ThinkPad laptop. Markle Jr. said he recognized the room pictured as being inside his father’s former home in Rosarito, Mexico.

Markle Jr., 60, said he was “a shaking wreck” after allegedly finding the material. He reported the discovery through an FBI hotline and to Pennsylvania State Police, where his 82-year-old father was living at the time.

Thomas Markle Sr. reportedly left the Philippines in May and returned to the United States after undergoing a leg amputation in December 2025.

Meghan Markle said Friday that she was “deeply disturbed” by the allegations involving her father. She also revealed that authorities received a complaint about him eight years ago, providing additional context for her decision to keep him away from her family.

“I am deeply distressed at the news that has come to light in the last 24 hours, and my thoughts are with any children who may have been harmed,” Markle said in a statement to The Post.

Markle said a letter was sent to London’s Metropolitan Police and Royalty and Specialist Protection in 2018, and that it was later shared with her. “It made troubling and disturbing allegations against my father and I was given assurances that these were being investigated,” she said.

“I hope it can now be understood that, despite certain media publications’ distortion over the years, any distance from my father and my choice to not allow him to have contact with our children was for one reason: to protect them.”

“I trusted that the authorities were doing the same for other families,” Markle added.

“Although the breadth of what has now been uncovered is more sickening than one could ever imagine, my sincerest hope is that justice will be fully served and that the priority remains the safety and protection of innocent children.”

Markle did not clarify whether the letter was sent before her May 19, 2018, wedding to Prince Harry in Windsor, nor did she say who originally delivered it to British police.
