Police: 19-Year-Old Man Wrapped P90 Machine Gun in Towel Beneath 11-Month-Old Child in Car Seat

Florida authorities arrested a 19-year-old man after allegedly discovering a P90 machine gun wrapped in a towel directly beneath an 11-month-old child seated in a car seat.

Angel Cruz Garcia was charged with possession of a concealed firearm by a juvenile delinquent and possession of less than 20 grams of cannabis, the Orlando Police Department announced.

Police identified the weapon as a black FN Herstal P90, which the company describes as “a compact, lightweight weapon with a magazine capacity of 50 cartridges.” Body camera footage appeared to show the firearm covered by a beach towel and positioned immediately below the child’s seat.

Records reviewed by regional NBC affiliate WESH indicate that Garcia was convicted as a minor, a record that barred him from possessing firearms.

In the latest case, authorities arrested and charged him. He has since been released from jail after posting bond.

Police have not disclosed Garcia’s relationship to the child.
