CHICAGO (WLS) — One person was injured Monday afternoon in a shooting involving an FBI agent on Chicago’s Southwest Side, officials said.

The shooting occurred near West 18th Street and South Union Avenue in the city’s Pilsen neighborhood, according to the FBI and Chicago police.

The Chicago Fire Department said one person was taken to a local hospital after being shot. The person’s condition was not immediately available.

Chopper 7 captured police vehicles and crime scene tape near the Dan Ryan Expressway. An ambulance was also at the scene.

Officials did not immediately disclose whether anyone else was injured or explain what led to the shooting.

The Chicago Police Department’s Investigative Response Team responded to document the scene, while the FBI’s Inspection Division is reviewing the incident.

“The FBI takes all shooting incidents involving our agents or task force members seriously,” the agency said in a statement.
