The Tulsa King Season 4 premiere closed with a devastating twist — spoilers ahead — when Dwight (Sylvester Stallone) discovered that a plane carrying Margaret (Dana Delany) and Governor Cal Thresher (Neal McDonough) had gone down in the Pacific Ocean.
Margaret’s apparent death is expected to reshape Dwight’s world and alter several key relationships. In Season 4, Episode 2, “Blind Rooster,” viewers also learn that Bodhi (Martin Starr) previously lost his wife and daughter in a car accident, years before Dwight arrived in Tulsa. Speaking with Decider, Starr discussed Bodhi’s painful history and the changing bond between his character and Dwight.
“It was something that we toyed with revealing earlier in the show,” Starr told Decider. He explained that the mentor-and-student relationship between Bodhi and Dwight had been part of the conversation since he first met with showrunner Terence Winter about the role five or six years ago. “So, it’s really interesting to see their roles shift briefly after the plane crash,” Starr said. “Bodhi wants to be a guide for Dwight when he’s struggling. It’s always fun to flip a relationship on its head and find deeper complexities in how those two characters connect.”
