Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Wedding Decor Was ‘Burned to the Ground’

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce reportedly turned Madison Square Garden into a fairytale setting for their wedding, exchanging vows in front of 1,000 guests while keeping the ceremony hidden from the public. Months after the New York celebration, new details about the highly private event continue to emerge. The latest revelation is that the couple’s elaborate wedding decor was ordered to be destroyed after the ceremony.

Fans are still waiting for a glimpse of Swift’s wedding-day look. Although some reports have offered details about the venue’s styling, no official photographs have been released. It now appears that many of the decorations may also be gone for good.

According to the Daily Mail, nearly every part of the arena was transformed to match the couple’s wedding theme. The design reportedly featured towering trees, dense greenery and an array of custom-built installations created to give Madison Square Garden a more enchanting atmosphere.

The elaborate setup did not remain in place for long. Just hours after Swift and Kelce celebrated with a guest list filled with entertainment industry stars, workers dismantled the decor and transported it from New York to Pennsylvania. The outlet reported that Swift’s team instructed them to “dispose” of the materials and ensure that no trace of the design remained.

Fans who gathered outside Madison Square Garden on the night of the reported wedding were said to have received leftover desserts from the celebration. The couple’s team, however, was reportedly determined to keep the decorations from leaving the venue. “They didn’t want people to steal it and then auction it or sell it, so they just burned it all,” a source said.

Among the reported features were walls inspired by the Colosseum, forest-themed graphics, artificial trees, a greenhouse, a peach-colored tent and various fabric installations. Much of the decor was created at Rock Lititz, though the precise site where the pieces were destroyed has not been disclosed. “They had told us it was going to be incinerated, but I don’t know where they actually physically incinerated it,” the source said.

The source clarified that Swift herself was not necessarily the person who directly instructed workers to burn the decorations. Still, they described the effort to eliminate every keepsake as extraordinary. “The fact that no one has relics of it and it all had to get burned and properly disposed of is kind of crazy,” the source said. They added, “Eleven semi-trucks to transport cross-country and then just burn it all down was pretty wild just because you don’t want people [to have access to it].”

While the couple reportedly prevented the wedding decorations from being resold, they could not stop Swifties from purchasing small transparent blocks containing items collected outside Madison Square Garden. According to CBS News, artist Justin Gignac gathered litter from New York streets on the day of Swift’s reported wedding.

The collection reportedly included cigarette butts, an AirPod and other discarded objects. “I went around the perimeter. I found a Ring Pop. I found that left AirPod, and I also found an ovulation test kit,” Gignac said. He used the finds to create roughly 50 transparent boxes, selling each one for $25.

All 50 cubes sold within a day. The strong demand prompted questions about whether Gignac had clearly identified the source of the contents. He said he had: “It’s from outside MSG during the wedding.”
