A young influencer’s tearful apology to the female creators he allegedly deceived has become a major talking point on TikTok. His extraordinary mea culpa video has since mysteriously disappeared, while one woman at the centre of the scandal says she is concerned about his wellbeing.
New Zealand content creator Oliver Mills, 27, acknowledged that he had been a “liar”, “a cheat” and “an unsafe partner” after three women publicly recounted relationships they said left them hurt and misled.
His six-minute confession was initially met with scepticism by his exes, including one woman who claimed she had heard the same apology repeatedly during their relationship.
Several weeks later, Oliver abruptly deactivated his TikTok account. One of his former partners, Maya Manoit, told the Daily Mail she was worried about how the intense backlash might affect his mental health.
The controversy began after American influencer Brittany Broski described an unhappy romance during a confessional segment at a Rosalía concert in San Diego.
Brittany, who became an internet sensation in 2019 after her reaction to tasting kombucha went viral, said she had invited an unnamed man from overseas to stay with her at her Los Angeles home.

Weeks later, Oliver shut down his TikTok account, while one of his exes, Maya Manoit (above), told the Daily Mail she was concerned about the effect of the backlash on his mental health
She alleged that she covered the costs of their time together, including trips to New York, Santa Barbara and Disneyland.
“Everything was on mama’s [my] card. I paid for everything,” she said.
Brittany claimed the man ended the relationship after spending three weeks at her apartment, then blocked her roughly two weeks later.
She said she later learned that he allegedly had another girlfriend during their relationship.
While Brittany did not identify Oliver at the concert, fans connected her story to content the pair had previously posted together.
They featured together in an Audible campaign in June 2024 and shared posts from Disneyland that August, fuelling speculation about the nature of their relationship.
Before the allegations emerged, Oliver was primarily known for posting videos of himself singing along to songs in his car.
His following grew dramatically in February 2024 after Taylor Swift gave him her coveted “22” hat during the second Melbourne concert on her Eras Tour.

Actress Avantika Vandanapu (pictured) later appeared in videos with Oliver, including clips of the pair singing karaoke and visiting a restaurant. Brittany commented to warn her to run
He later told New Zealand radio hosts how excited he was to discover that the superstar had watched his TikTok videos.
Brittany’s later activity on social media drew Oliver further into the growing controversy.
After actress Avantika Vandanapu appeared in videos with him, including clips of them singing karaoke and visiting a restaurant, Brittany raised eyebrows by leaving a comment warning her to run.
Avantika did not make an allegation about Oliver’s behaviour.
Paris-based Maya then shared a detailed account of her own relationship with Oliver, alleging repeated deception and contact with another woman.
‘I think I owe it to the girls to tell this story,’ she said.
Maya acknowledged that her followers might question why she stayed, explaining that she had loved Oliver and struggled to walk away.
She alleged problems began early in their relationship, when he invited her to spend Christmas with his family but told her the week beforehand that he was spending a weekend with another woman.
Paris-based Maya shared a detailed account of her own relationship with Oliver
According to Maya, Oliver woke up at her home that morning before leaving to stay elsewhere that night.
She said she stopped communicating with him, only for him to repeatedly call and message asking for another chance.
She eventually agreed to meet him for sushi with her younger brother, and their relationship continued.
However, Maya alleged things deteriorated after Oliver received a message from an ex following a camping trip.
She said she initially had no objection to them being in contact because she was also communicating with an ex at the time.
Oliver later became distressed at her home and told her he had spoken to his former partner on FaceTime, Maya claimed.
Over the following weeks, she alleged she became increasingly anxious as she sought an explanation for what was happening, with the uncertainty affecting her sleep and eating.
The turning point came when Oliver left for an appointment and she remained in his room.
Maya alleged he had two phones and took only one with him. She said she looked through the device he left behind and discovered explicit messages, alongside frequent texts and calls allegedly exchanged while she was asleep beside him.
She took screenshots of the messages then called friends asking them to collect her.
After her own phone ran out of battery, Maya said they retrieved Oliver’s other device so she could show her friends what she had found.
She then contacted his ex, claiming they spoke on FaceTime for about an hour.
When Oliver called to ask where she was, Maya said she turned the camera towards the other phone, revealing his ex on the screen.
She alleged he ended the call before repeatedly contacting her to demand his phone back. Not wanting to see him, she said she left it at a restaurant they used to visit.

Despite what she said she had discovered, Maya continued the relationship and tried to rebuild trust.
She alleged Oliver subsequently changed his phone password and stopped allowing her access.
Maya also described supporting him through mental health and family difficulties.
She claimed she paid for things while he spoke about earning substantial sums through brand deals.
Maya said she had not known about his involvement with Brittany until she came across a video while at his home.
She alleged the relationship seriously affected her wellbeing, with friends and family becoming concerned and encouraging her to leave.
Another former partner, Sierra Brave, known online as Si Si, also publicly accused Oliver of cheating and misrepresenting his relationship status when they began seeing each other
Sierra challenged whether the public statement represented any meaningful change, claiming its language was familiar
Another former partner, Sierra Brave, known online as Si Si, also publicly accused Oliver of cheating and misrepresenting his relationship status when they began seeing each other.
Sierra described the toll of an unhappy relationship, saying she had been left with little energy for herself or her friendships.
‘I was in a bad relationship last year that caused me to not have any love or energy for anyone or anything else,’ she said.
She described feeling disconnected from herself before gradually regaining her happiness and reconnecting with friends after the relationship ended.
As the women’s accounts spread, Oliver posted an extraordinary apology admitting he had deceived former partners, friends and family.
In the full clip, obtained by the Daily Mail, which has since been taken down, he accepted the women’s descriptions of his behaviour and said their decision to speak publicly was justified.
‘I’ve been lying to everyone,’ he began.
‘A few of the people I’ve dated have made videos about their experiences dating me, and the fact that I am a liar and a cheat and an unsafe partner.

‘And they were correct, and they were correct to do so, ’cause I am and I have been. And I know my word means absolutely nothing, and I deserve that, and I deserve that.’
Oliver acknowledged causing significant harm and said he was not deserving of sympathy.
He described his behaviour as ‘selfish’ and repeatedly said he needed to make ‘radical’ changes.
He also admitted there was another person he had hurt: a male partner he had been seeing when the women’s videos emerged.
Oliver said he had justified his behaviour to himself and needed to understand how he had been able to cause such harm.
He acknowledged the gap between the values he promoted publicly and his conduct in private.
‘I’ve been lying to everyone. I have been claiming publicly a moral system that I have not lived up to in my private life. Yeah, that’s deeply shameful.
‘I’m deeply ashamed of that.’
Addressing the women by name, he continued: ‘And Maya and Brittany [Broski] and Sierra [Brave], I’m terribly sorry. I’ve hurt you all in unique ways, and I am the common denominator there.’
Oliver also admitted deceiving those closest to him.
‘I have hurt my friends and my family… callous lies. Just lies on lies on lies.’
He said much of the work required to change would happen offline, although he acknowledged he did not yet know exactly what it would involve.
But his apology failed to convince some of the women involved.
Sierra challenged whether the public statement represented any meaningful change, claiming its language was familiar.
‘I’d really warn against believing this soliloquy. I must say, this is the exact same speech I got our entire relationship,’ she commented beneath the video.
‘Also, just to note, he has never privately apologised to me, and he is only doing this now because it’s come to the internet.’
Maya also shared a dismissive response to the apology at the time.
Now, weeks later, the video has vanished along with Oliver’s TikTok account, and Maya has expressed concern for his wellbeing.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, she said she did not want to add to the pain experienced by anyone involved.
‘I think, for now, I’d prefer not to revisit everything publicly. I don’t want to cause any more pain or suffering for anyone involved, including myself, and I’m still trying to process everything and heal from it all.
‘It’s been a lot emotionally, and I feel like I need to protect my peace and give myself time to recover.
‘I’m really worried about his mental health and the impact this could have on him. I don’t want to say anything more, but I just hope that’s taken into consideration.’
Oliver declined to comment when approached by the Daily Mail this week.
