Newly released surveillance footage captures the terrifying moments when a 15-year-old girl escaped a man police say kidnapped and repeatedly stabbed her. An anonymous source provided the video to News Media.
The suspect, an undocumented immigrant, faces multiple charges stemming from the attack at a Baltimore, Maryland, residence. He entered the United States three years ago during the Biden administration, according to federal officials.
The Baltimore Police Department identified the suspect as Abubakarr Barrie, 23. Investigators allege that Barrie stabbed the girl inside a home. Multiple reports say he worked as an unlicensed cab driver.

The Department of Homeland Security says Barrie picked up the victim and took her “to a basement property that he was renting at the time.”
Authorities allege that Barrie stabbed the girl multiple times in the basement before she managed to break free and run to safety.
The attack occurred on Oct. 22, and Barrie was arrested two days later. ICE filed a detainer against him on the day of his arrest.

Earlier this year, the New York City Police Department arrested Barrie on a charge of third-degree possession of a forged instrument. ICE also filed a detainer at that time, but New York City officials released him in July.
DHS said Barrie is from Sierra Leone and entered the United States through Arizona in December 2023. Border Patrol agents arrested him at the time, but he was later released under the Biden administration.

In a statement, DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said, “This tragedy would never have happened were it not for the multiple failures of sanctuary policies. First, Biden’s open borders let this monster into our country, then sanctuary politicians in New York refused to hand him over to ICE and released him after a previous arrest three months before this horrific crime. DHS is urging Baltimore County authorities to learn from sanctuary New York’s mistakes, honor ICE’s detainer against this illegal alien, and prevent him from harming any more Americans.”
