The father of a nurse who was allegedly killed by her federal agent boyfriend in a Bronx murder-suicide heard the gunshots while speaking with his daughter by phone Tuesday night, police and sources said.
Andrea Cantarini, 37, was on the phone with her father when her boyfriend, Juan Cornelio Diaz, 38, allegedly shot her in the head inside her Blackstone Avenue apartment in Riverdale at about 9 p.m., according to the NYPD. Diaz worked as a US Customs and Border Protection officer assigned to JFK Airport.
Diaz was later discovered at the apartment with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, police said.
Investigators believe the deadly violence followed a domestic dispute.
