(CBS News) – The estate of country music legend Dolly Parton has asked the court to dismiss its lawsuit against her nephew and former security chief, Bryan Seaver. The case followed allegations that Seaver threatened violence and sought to damage Parton’s brand.
The specific terms of the resolution were not immediately disclosed.

“Mr. Seaver is grateful to move beyond this misunderstanding, allowing the family to mourn in peace and protect the lasting brilliance of Dolly’s legacy,” Seaver’s attorneys said in a statement to CBS News.
Seaver leads the private security company Squadron Augmented Protection Services and had been responsible for announcing Parton’s death in August. The following month, She’s Alive—the company overseeing Parton’s estate and business affairs—terminated its relationship with Seaver and SAPS. Danny Nozell, Parton’s longtime manager and the head of She’s Alive, subsequently sought a restraining order against Seaver and the security firm.
Parton died from cancer at age 80.
