“Good Morning America” co-anchors Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos were celebrated Thursday with neighboring stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The joint ceremony took place on Hollywood Boulevard and was streamed live.

Michael Strahan, their “GMA” colleague who received a Walk of Fame star in 2023, hosted the event.
Stephanopoulos described the honor as a “great gift,” reflecting on the opportunity to report on the defining stories of the era, speak with remarkable and inspiring figures, and greet viewers across the country each morning.
He said the role means helping people begin their day with the facts, guidance and encouragement they need—while hopefully giving them a reason to smile.
Roberts used her remarks to thank Disney for the opportunities that shaped her career, including its encouragement to step beyond her comfort zone.
She also celebrated her enduring on-air partnership with Stephanopoulos, saying she still could not believe they had become “the longest-running duo in morning television history.”
Roberts closed by honoring her wife, Amber Laign. “Thank you, hon, for opening my eyes to everything and anything that is possible and for making me believe that we are just getting started on our journey together,” she said.

Michael J. Fox, Niecy Nash-Betts and Debra OConnell, chairman of Disney Entertainment Television, also spoke at the ceremony.
Paying tribute to Roberts, Nash-Betts said a young Black girl could one day see the broadcaster’s name on the sidewalk and understand that her own dreams were within reach.
“We’re celebrating your courage, your faith, your kindness and the countless lives you have touched,” Nash-Betts said. “Hollywood may be putting your star on the ground today, but you spent your life showing us how to reach for the sky.”

Fox praised Stephanopoulos for taking his responsibilities seriously and for being proud of the work he does.

He added that Stephanopoulos cares deeply about the people who watch him each day, recalling occasions when he has chatted with viewers and left them happier than before.
Fox then playfully suggested that Stephanopoulos consider running for office in the 2028 election.
“Think about it—it would work, it would work,” Fox said.
The stars honoring Roberts and Stephanopoulos are located at 6290 Hollywood Boulevard, near the historic El Capitan Theatre.

Roberts and Stephanopoulos have led “GMA” since becoming co-anchors in 2009, guiding viewers through major developments in politics, culture and entertainment.
Their combined work spans landmark interviews, breaking-news coverage and personal stories that have shaped the morning broadcast for years.
Martinez said honoring the pair with a double star was a privilege, praising their exceptional broadcasting careers and the lasting influence they have had on viewers nationwide.
