Two men were taken into custody Monday at the University of New Mexico after authorities alleged they discussed throwing objects at people attending a Turning Point USA gathering.
Kevin Castro and Harrison Magnus were arrested by University of New Mexico police following the campus event, KRQE reported.
Although court records did not identify the gathering by name, the university’s Turning Point USA chapter held a “Prove Me Wrong” event that day with Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins.
Footage shared by the campus TPUSA chapter appears to show Magnus shouting toward the crowd as officers escorted him away in handcuffs.

According to court documents, Castro allegedly threw a lacrosse ball toward the audience, narrowly missing one person. He was booked on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, disorderly conduct and conspiracy.
Investigators allege Magnus was speaking with Castro about a plan to throw items into the crowd. He was charged with conspiracy, disorderly conduct and concealing identity.
A University of New Mexico spokesperson confirmed the arrests to News Media, saying the school supports lawful free speech while rejecting violence and other illegal conduct on campus.
“UNM remains committed to providing a safe, healthy and inclusive environment for all who learn, work and live on our campuses,” the spokesperson said. “The university upholds freedom of expression and will not tolerate threats, violence or other conduct that violates the law or university policies.”
News Media contacted an attorney representing Magnus. It was not immediately known whether Castro had legal representation.
