By the late 1990s, S Club 7 had become one of pop’s biggest acts, winning over millions of young fans and scoring a string of number-one singles.
Created by former Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller, the group rose to fame in 1998 with hits including Bring It All Back, S Club Party, Reach and Never Had a Dream Come True.
Following reunions for a 2015 tour and the band’s 25th anniversary in 2023, S Club 7 have announced another comeback: a 13-date UK tour next year.
Five members — Bradley McIntosh, 45, Rachel Stevens, 48, Jon Lee, 44, Tina Barrett, 50, and Jo O’Meara, 47 — will take part. Hannah Spearritt, however, will be absent after withdrawing from previous tour plans following the tragic death of bandmate Paul Cattermole.
So what have the former pop stars been doing since their days at the top of the charts?
The Daily Mail looks at their lives today, from a heartbreaking loss to careers in acting and theatre — as well as one former member’s move to Costa Rica for a more sustainable jungle lifestyle.

S Club 7 rose to fame in 1998 with hits including Bring It All Back, S Club Party, Reach and Never Had a Dream Come True
After S Club 7 split, Hannah stepped away from music to concentrate on her acting career.
She appeared in the films Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London and Seed Of Chucky.
Hannah later secured a leading role in ITV’s Primeval, playing Abby Maitland for five seasons.
She also worked in theatre, appearing in productions including One Man, Two Guvnors and The Armour.
Hannah began a relationship with her Primeval co-star Andrew-Lee Potts in 2008, but the couple split in 2013.
That year, she underwent breast implant surgery and later reported suffering from chronic fatigue, memory and hair loss, depression and anxiety.
After having the implants removed in 2016, Hannah recovered and made a documentary about the experience titled Hannah Spearritt: Me & Breast Implants.
She went on to join the cast of Casualty before taking on the role of Kandice Taylor — the younger sister of established character Karen Taylor — in EastEnders in 2017.
Hannah started dating personal trainer Adam Thomas in 2013. Although they briefly separated in 2015, they reunited in 2018.
In January 2025, Hannah and her family moved to Costa Rica, where they have embraced an off-grid, rustic and sustainable jungle lifestyle centred on farming
Hannah appeared on Celebrity: SAS Who Dares Wins in July last year, but walked off set and left the programme within hours of the first day
The couple went on to welcome two daughters, Taya, seven, and Tora, five.
In 2022, Hannah tried to launch a holistic café called Earth & Fire in Twickenham, south-west London.
The business encountered difficulties and eventually failed, during a period when the family also faced financial problems and temporary homelessness.
In January 2025, Hannah and her family relocated to Costa Rica. They have since followed an off-grid, sustainable way of life, focusing on farming, spending time outdoors by waterfalls and rivers, and maintaining a simpler daily routine.
Hannah also appeared on Celebrity: SAS Who Dares Wins in July last year, but left the programme within hours of the opening day.
She completed the initial 26-foot sea jump and swim before taking part in an intense hostage rescue and extraction exercise at an abandoned compound in Wales.
After a difficult moment on set, reportedly involving an overwhelming panic-type episode, Hannah told producers: ‘I’m done.’
Paul Cattermole
Paul died suddenly from natural causes at the age of 46 on April 6, 2023, just two months after he and the group announced their reunion tour
Paul died suddenly from natural causes at the age of 46 on April 6, 2023 — just two months after he and the band announced their reunion tour.
His body was found at his ground-floor flat in Wareham, Dorset, leaving his former bandmates and fans devastated.
After leaving S Club 7 in 2002, Paul earned a living as a tarot card reader. He was reportedly in ‘good spirits’ when he was seen at a park near his home several days before his death.
His former girlfriend and fellow bandmate Hannah was said to be ‘in bits’ after learning the news.
Following Paul’s death, the group adopted the name S Club and confirmed they would continue with their reunion tour.
Paul shocked the group’s worldwide fanbase in 2002 when he announced that he was leaving, citing ‘creative differences’.
Life after the band proved difficult. He was declared bankrupt in 2014 and even listed his Brit Award on eBay, writing: ‘There’s bills to pay.’
Paul said he had tried to join reality programmes including I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and Dancing On Ice, but was told he was not ‘famous enough’.
During a 2018 appearance on Loose Women, he revealed that he had run out of money and had borrowed a shirt for the interview.
In 2019, Paul made an emotional appearance on the dating programme First Dates Hotel.
He went on a date with music fan Anna, but after she gently rejected him, Paul broke down in tears on camera and asked for a ‘moment’ to compose himself.
During the date, Paul recalled his time as a pop star and claimed he had been contractually required to date fellow bandmate Hannah during the group’s peak in the 2000s.
Paul told Anna: ‘I don’t tend to bring up on a date that I have been in a pop group. It’s not the thing I want to shout about.
‘I ended up being in the group for six years. I did leave before the end; I was feeling like I was losing myself and I wasn’t very happy at all.
‘I had the balls to say, “Guys, I’ve got to go,” but not one of them said anything.’
Paul and Hannah appeared to rekindle their relationship in June 2015 after being seen kissing on the Tube, but they split again in November that year.
Tina previously said: ‘I’m always here for Paul. It is hard when you see someone you’ve worked with look like they’re struggling.’
Paul later built a presence on YouTube as a tarot reader, asking viewers to make donations.
He launched a channel called Tarot Me This, offering regular readings under the description: ‘Tarot readings for everyone!’
Rachel Stevens
Since S Club 7 split in 2003, Rachel Stevens has enjoyed a varied career spanning solo pop, television, reality shows, theatre and writing
Rachel appeared on Dancing On Ice in 2022, becoming the third celebrity to leave, and later dated her professional skating partner Brendyn Hatfield for three years
Since S Club 7 split in 2003, Rachel Stevens has pursued a wide-ranging career in solo music, television, reality shows, theatre and writing.
She was reportedly offered a six-figure solo record deal after the group disbanded and released the successful single Sweet Dreams My LA Ex.
Rachel followed it with More More and Some Girls, but her solo career ended after the release of her second album in 2005.
She later appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2008, reaching the final and finishing in second place with professional partner Vincent Simone.

Rachel served as a guest mentor on The X Factor in New Zealand in 2013 and appeared on Celebrity Masterchef and Celebrity Mastermind in 2017.
In 2019, she joined the cast of the theatre production Rip It Up The 70s alongside Louis Smith, Melody Thornton and Lee Ryan.
Rachel married her childhood sweetheart Alex Bourne in 2009, and they have two daughters, Minnie, 12, and Amelie, 15.
The couple announced their shock separation on Instagram in July 2022.
That year, Rachel competed on Dancing On Ice and became the third celebrity to be eliminated.
She later began dating her professional skating partner Brendyn Hatfield, but they split after three years together.
In June 2024, Rachel made a major return to live music by performing her first solo headline set since 2005 at London’s Mighty Hoopla Festival.
In September that year, she published her candid autobiography, Finding My Voice. The book explored life in the centre of the 2000s pop phenomenon, her mental health struggles, historical trauma and her journey towards greater personal resilience.
Jo O’Meara
In November 2008, Jo, Bradley and Paul formed the spin-off group S Club 3, performing at nightclubs, universities and Butlins holiday camps
Jo experienced ongoing health problems after a back injury suffered in 2002 flared up again. In 2022, she underwent four operations to remove part of a slipped disc
Jo O’Meara released her debut single, What Hurts The Most, in September 2005, and it reached number 13 on the UK Singles Chart.
Her follow-up album, Relentless, was not a commercial success, prompting Jo to explore reality television.
She appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2007, where she was accused of racism towards Shilpa Shetty alongside Jade Goody and Danielle Lloyd.
Jo welcomed her son, Lenny, in May 2008 with her former partner Bill Slater.
Later that year, Jo, Bradley and Paul formed the spin-off group S Club 3, performing at nightclubs, universities and Butlins holiday camps.
During the pandemic, she supported British healthcare workers by singing songs selected by them.
Jo has also faced several health problems linked to a back injury dating back to 2002, which later flared up.
In 2022, she underwent four operations to remove part of a slipped disc in her back.
She later said she required regular physiotherapy and had suffered permanent damage to her right leg.
Jo released her second album, With Love, in 2021. The 12-track record was followed a year later by a new management deal with Saga Entertainment, with Jack Corbyn appointed as her personal manager.
Tina Barrett
After the group split, Tina stayed out of the spotlight for a time before returning with her debut single Fire in 2012
Tina was almost part of another major girl group. She featured in an early version of Mis-Teeq with Alesha Dixon and Sabrina Washington, but left to join S Club 7.
After S Club 7 disbanded, Tina kept a low profile for a while before returning with her debut single Fire in 2012.
She followed it with Make Me Dance and All Fired Up, and later joined Jo and Bradley in S Club 3.
Tina also explored musical theatre, appearing in Beauty And The Beast and playing the Wicked Witch in The Wizard Of Oz in 2014.
She welcomed her son Roman in 2016 with former partner Paul Cashmore, whom she had dated for six years before their 2019 split.
Tina told OK! magazine: ‘Walking away from our relationship was so hard, it felt like my whole world caved in.’
She added: ‘When you have a baby, you have the future mapped out — and then when that doesn’t happen, it’s like your whole world caves in.
‘I had to decide whether to carry on when it’s not working or end it. Looking back, we did the right thing. The worst thing is clinging on to something when you know it’s not right. It’s heartbreaking.’
Tina continued releasing music, putting out another single, Mwah Mwah, in January 2020. She also appeared on The Hit List with Bradley in December 2022.
Since 2022, she has maintained a relatively low profile while performing at regional festivals and events.
Bradley McIntosh
Bradley moved into songwriting, writing material for JLS and Sugababes’ Mutya Buena, before becoming an entrepreneur with Citiboy Entertainment and Yoghurt Media
After S Club 7 ended, Bradley joined another group created for MTV’s Totally Boyband.
The band, Upper Street, brought together members of former groups including 911, Steps and Another Level.
Their single The One reached number 35 in the UK charts. Bradley then focused on songwriting, working on hits for JLS and Sugababes’ Mutya Buena.
He later became an entrepreneur, running Citiboy Entertainment and serving as a director of Yoghurt Media.
Bradley is married to Megan Firth, and the couple have a nine-year-old son, Kairo.
Jon Lee
Earlier this year, Jon returned to EastEnders as Josh Saunders, the son of Julie Bates and stepson of Nigel Bates
In 2025, Jon appeared on Celebs Go Dating after being single and celibate for around six years following a previous heartbreak
Jon Lee moved from S Club 7 into theatre, appearing in productions including Les Miserables, Aladdin and Jersey Boys.
In 2008, he voiced Max in the British Disney Channel animated series Famous 5: On the Case.
Jon came out in 2010, telling Gay Times: ‘It’s never needed to be a huge change that I’ve had to tell everyone about.’
That same year, he played a patient diagnosed with motor neurone disease in Casualty.
Jon released his debut solo album, Fallen Angel, in 2013, although it was not a major commercial success.
In 2017, he performed with the band Boys Allowed on Let’s Sing and Dance for Comic Relief. The following year, he appeared on ITV’s Dinner Date in search of love.
A year later, he returned to ITV’s Dinner Date.
In 2025, Jon joined the cast of Celebs Go Dating after remaining single and celibate for roughly six years following a painful previous relationship.
During the series, he met hairdresser Jordan Fairhurst. Although they quickly formed a strong connection, they ended their relationship six months later because of the challenges of living long distance.
Earlier this year, Jon reprised his role as Josh Saunders — the son of Julie Bates and stepson of Nigel Bates — in EastEnders.
He originally appeared in 20 episodes of the soap between November 1997 and April 1998, before becoming famous as a member of S Club 7.
Jon returned for a special guest appearance in May 2026 as part of the funeral storyline for his stepfather Nigel Bates. The storyline reunited him on screen with his TV mother Julie, played by Karen Henthorn, and stepsister Clare, played by Gemma Bissix.
