The anniversary update for Re:Rangers X has unveiled a host of rare units and their evolutions, primarily accessible through summon banners. A standout among these is The Misfit, a Secret character that employs a unique strategy by harming its allies to apply Erasure debuffs to opponents. This unit draws inspiration from Anos Vodigoad of The Misfit of Demon King Academy, both in its design and capabilities.

How to get the Misfit in Re:Rangers X
The Misfit is available through the Rate-Up Summons banner in Re:Rangers X. Although it is a Secret unit, it doesn’t feature on the banner like its Mythic counterparts, it can still be summoned from it.
Thanks to the game’s pity system, securing a Secret unit becomes certain after 5000 pulls from the Rate-Up Summons. Each pull is priced at 100 Gems, meaning you’ll need a staggering 500,000 Gems to reach 5000 summons. Players can accumulate this premium currency by completing various quests, advancing through levels, and collecting daily log-in rewards.
Courtesy of the pity system, you’re guaranteed to receive a Secret unit after making 5000 pulls in the Rate-Up Summons. A single pull costs 100 Gems, so 5000 summons will require a whopping 500,000 Gems. You can get this premium currency by completing quests, levels, and collecting log-in rewards.
After acquiring The Misfit, use Limit Break to raise its level capacity and use Stat Rerolls, Curses, and Souls to enhance its power. Moreover, utilize Trait Rerolls to get the meta Traits in Re:Rangers X.
Evolution requirements for The Misfit in Re:Rangers X
You can evolve The Misfit to The Misfit (Demon King). To do so, interact with the Hollow NPC in the Upgrade zone and finish the following requirements:
- 500 takedowns with The Misfit
- 1x Rimetsuken
- 80x Ranger Crystal
- 300x Dark Universe
- 400,000 Gold
Dark Universe can be obtained from the Spiral Invasion chapter of the Rift gamemode. You’ll need to choose the particular item drop before diving into the battle, which was introduced by Update 5.0.
Rimetsuken is a craftable evolution item. To obtain it, speak to Master Roshi NPC and give them the following items and currency:
- 75x Ancient Power Core
- 150x Soul Core
- 50x Ancient Talisman
- 100x Demon Fang Shard
- 250x Soul Shard
- 200,000 Gold
The best way to get Ranger Crystals is by completing Ghoul Hunt. You can buy any number of crystals from the Ghoul Shop.
All passives of The Misfit (Demon King) in Re:Rangers X
Attacks and abilities of this Secret unit have a chance to hurt its allies. However, whenever an ally is hit, the unit gains a damage buff and inflicts Erasure debuffs on nearby enemies. Erasure is akin to a damage-over-time effect (DoT).
Here are the passives of The Misfit (Demon King):
- Resurrection and Death: For The Misfit’s first three lives, it will have -95% HP, -95% Damage, -70% Range, and 4 Speed. On the unit’s fourth life, it unlocks all other passives permanently, and it will have its regular stats for the rest of the match.
- Indiscriminate Destruction: The Misfit’s attacks have a 75% chance to damage its allies. Basic attacks can deal up to 15,000 damage, while its abilities can inflict up to 30,000 damage. However, it cannot hit allies at or below 50% Max HP (max three allies per attack). The Misfit gains 5% damage for $25 whenever an ally is hit (50% cap).
- Erasure: Each time The Misfit attacks an ally, inflict Erasure on a random enemy in range. After 15 seconds, if that enemy’s HP is 50%, the debuff removes 2% health. An enemy can receive up to five Erasure debuffs, but the foe is not affected by them if it has 5% or less HP.
- Sword of Reasoned Destruction (Ultimate): This ultimate is unlocked on the final upgrade for The Misfit. If there is no boss on the map, the unit inflicts Erasure on random enemies in range, which stacks with the third passive. After 30 seconds, the enemies with the Erasure debuff and less than 10% HP die after 30 seconds (max 10 kills). If a boss is present on the map, the ultimate deals 100% damage for 80 seconds to the boss, and it has a global cooldown of 200 seconds.
This character is best used alongside tanky units, such as Magma Admiral, who can withstand its attacks.
