Retail chains are recalling the 1.9 kg Lux Ham, which has a listed expiration of May 6, 2026.
This product, produced by Barkly Smokehouse Pty Ltd, has been distributed through independent outlets, including IGA stores, across New South Wales and Victoria.
Concerns have emerged regarding possible contamination with listeria monocytogenes.
This bacterium poses significant health risks, particularly to pregnant individuals, their unborn children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems.
The recall notice highlights that even healthy individuals can fall ill after consuming foods tainted with Listeria monocytogenes.
Customers are told not to eat the products and instead, to return it to their place of purchase for a full refund.
“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice,” they advise.
