A search effort is currently underway for a swimmer who went missing at Maroubra Beach in Sydney. Teams from Marine Rescue Botany Port Hacking and Marine Rescue Middle Harbour are collaborating with water police to locate the individual.
Authorities have identified the missing swimmer as a man believed to be in his 30s. He disappeared after entering the water shortly before 4 p.m. today and has not been seen since.

"Conditions are not favourable offshore this afternoon, with choppy seas and squally rain showers," Marine Rescue NSW Inspector Andrew Harding said.
"Volunteer crews on board Middle Harbour 30 and Botany Hacking 32 will continue searching this evening until instructed otherwise by NSW Police Marine Area Command."
