The grandmother of two boys who were found dead at a home in central west NSW has been charged with murder.
Brothers Max and Sam Johnson, aged 7 and 6, were found dead in a home in Coonabarabran, north of Dubbo on Monday.
The children’s grandmother, Kathy Heggs, has been charged with murder in relation to their deaths.
NSW Police earlier arrested Heggs, who remained in a mental health facility until last night.
She was released from the facility and taken to Orange Police Station where she was charged with two counts of murder.
She has been refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Bail Court today.
Police informed parents Samantha Heggs and Troy Johnson of the boys’ deaths on Monday evening.
The next day, the parents say they discovered through media reports that Samantha’s mother had been arrested.
