The propeller of Paris’ iconic Moulin Rouge windmill has fallen off.
A Parisian resident saw the blade lying on the ground while walking to work at 3am, taking to social media to share the sight.
“The joys of going to work at 3am, coming face to face with the propeller of the Moulin Rouge that has fallen to the ground,” Adélaïde Malavaud said on X.
It appeared that the propeller had detached from the front of the building and crashed to the ground.
A spokesperson for the venue later confirmed to the French Foreign Press that it had fallen off, but they did not know how.
The Moulin Rouge, which translates to red windmill, is an iconic venue that has hosted world-famous cabaret shows since 1889.
It last experienced significant damage during a large fire in 1915, forcing it to close for six years before it reopened in 1921.
