“I thought I had to replace the battery…turns out the front of the house is on fire,” Goldman said.

“So I ran out of the house, grabbed the baby, (but) the dog was still inside… I ran back in and couldn’t find the dog.

“Everyone’s screaming at me to get out, I singed the front of my hair…It was one of the scariest 10, 15 minutes ever.

“I had to wait for the fire brigade to get here and go and get him.”

He said that his young son usually sleeps in a room right near the fire, but luckily he slept in his parents’ room last night.

“(He) sleeps in that room, but luckily last night he was asleep in our bed because he was a little bit under the weather,” Goldman said.

“I woke up, got everyone up, got out of the house, but if he was in there… (the) smoke inhalation…jeez, I hate to think what might have happened.”

Fire investigators are on the scene.
