The Melbourne Cup received a dose of international star power on Tuesday when Irish crooners The Corrs attended the race that stops the nation.

Andrea, Jim, and Caroline Corr frocked up for the event and were seen enjoying all the glamour of the Birdcage.

The trio posed for photos before swanning around inside with the other celebrity attendees.

Andrea, 49, looked simply stunning in a red dress and matching wedges.

She flashed a warm smile for the camera, while her brother Jim sported a more serious expression.

The Corrs have been in Australia for their tour, The Corrs Down Under.

The hitmakers have been playing arena shows across Australia and New Zealand.

The Corrs were in Australia last year for a one-off concert, which marked the first time in 21 years that they’d been Down Under.

They’re best known for the hits Breathless, Runaway, and Summer Sunshine.

‘It makes sense to sing back in Australia as we had our first success in Australia as a band, so it’s lovely to go back,’ Sharon Corr told Triple M last year.

Sharon also spoke of the family band and their talent.

‘We’ve often wondered over the years why one of us wasn’t a complete dud, like what are the chances’ she said.

‘I mean, music is an amazing thing to do. We do love it. Our parents brought us up playing music, listening to music, listening to them. So we’re just been doing it our entire life.’
