A 25-year-old man faces charges for allegedly fatally stabbing his 47-year-old mother.
Authorities are currently investigating the reasons behind the suspected attack, noting that Blaise Mcintyre has no known history of violent behavior.
Blaise is accused of inflicting multiple stab wounds on his mother, Rebecca, at their residence in Windale, Lake Macquarie, around 8 p.m. last night.
Despite efforts by paramedics to save her, she sadly succumbed to her injuries.
According to Superintendent Tracy Chapman of NSW Police, a knife has been collected from the scene as evidence.
The 25-year-old was taken to hospital under police guard before he was charged with domestic violence murder.
Immediately after the attack police allege it was actually Blaise Mcintyre who made the triple zero call for help.
They say he wasn’t known to them prior to this incident and had never been called to police for alleged domestic violence.
Rebecca McIntyre’s friends described her to 9News as a beautiful woman who was always so warm and loving.
“She always had a smile” one neighbour said.
