Authorities intervened late at night, around 11:30 p.m., to apprehend a group of suspected kidnappers. Their target was reportedly a bodyguard associated with an individual linked to the notorious Alameddine crime syndicate in Sydney. The incident began when the victim was forcibly taken into his own vehicle outside his Guildford residence.
Shortly afterward, the Ford Ranger used in the abduction was discovered partially burned in Villawood.
About an hour later, around 12:30 a.m., police successfully located the victim in Casula, situated in Sydney’s southwest.
The victim, suffering from facial injuries, received medical attention and was transported to a hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
Five men were subsequently apprehended near the Hume Highway in Casula, thanks to the assistance of the Raptor Squad.
Footage obtained by 9News shows police, including members of the Tactical Operations Unit, shows officers searching a nearby safehouse.
The arrested men have been taken to Liverpool Station.
No charges have been laid.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the alleged abduction and assault is under way.
