Teenagers arrested in St Kilda

Three teenagers have been charged over an alleged assault at a popular Melbourne beach.

Video footage has surfaced showing a large group of teenagers involved in a physical altercation near the shoreline of St Kilda Beach around 8 p.m. yesterday evening.

Law enforcement officers responded to reports of the disturbance and subsequently apprehended a 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy at the scene.

During the incident, a 16-year-old girl allegedly attempted to evade capture by running into the water. However, police officers followed her into the surf and successfully detained her.

The young woman is now facing charges of affray, assault, and attempting to escape custody.

The teenager has since been charged with affray, assault and escaping custody.

The first girl was also charged with affray and assault.

The boy has been charged with assault and assaulting police.

The trio were bailed to appear before a children’s court at a later date.
