A cruise line has announced the successful navigation of two of its ships through the Strait of Hormuz.

On Friday, April 17, the Celestyal Discovery, captained by Nikolaos Vasileiou, became the pioneering cruise ship to exit the Arabian Gulf. This achievement followed a meticulously crafted voyage plan created in partnership with regional authorities and maritime security experts.

The following day, Saturday, April 18, the Celestyal Journey, under the leadership of Captain Angelos Vasilakos, completed the same passage with equal success.

According to Celestyal, these voyages have paved the way for other cruise ships to safely traverse the area.

“Our voyage plans were the result of thorough collaboration with essential authorities and security partners, guaranteeing that all movements were executed with the utmost safety, precision, and situational awareness,” Celestyal stated in a release.

“Following their successful transit, both Celestyal Discovery and Celestyal Journey are now repositioning to the Mediterranean where they will commence the upcoming summer season as planned.

“Celestyal can confirm that all future sailings currently on sale will operate as scheduled, providing guests and travel partners with confidence and continuity as the company transitions into its Mediterranean deployment.”

The release did not specify whether there were any passengers on board – all things considered, it’s unlikely.
