Amanda Bynes has made a lot of bizarre accusations over the years, including a period where she was accusing her parents of doing heinous things to her despite being her conservators, up until 2022, when she released from the decade-long hold.
Though Bynes seems to be doing better nowadays, even announcing an exciting career move earlier this month, new accusations have come out against the former Nickelodeon actress by a former co-star who recalled being assaulted by Amanda.
Raquel Lee Bolleau Says Bynes Spit At Her While Filming ‘The Amanda Bynes Show’
During a recent episode of Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, Raquel Lee Bolleau made startling allegations regarding her experiences on the set of The Amanda Show. Quiet on Set is a documentary television series released this year. Comprising five episodes, the series delves into the inner workings of children’s television programming from the late 1990s to the early 2000s.
The doc offers viewers a glimpse behind the scenes, with a particular emphasis on the era when Dan Schneider held the reins as a producer and showrunner at Nickelodeon. Though Schneider worked closely with Bynes, she didn’t participate in the documentary, nor has she released any comments about it, even to defend herself in the wake of new allegations about her on-set behavior.
In the doc, Raquel, who starred on all three seasons of The Amanda Show and is best known for her work on The Proud Family, recounted an incident involving her co-star Bynes during the filming of a skit called “The Literals.”
Bolleau says that Bynes, without any prompting, spat in her face multiple times during the filming of the sketch. The now-37-year-old voice actress detailed how Amanda had to perform a spit-take with liquid in her mouth for the scene, but allegedly went beyond the requirements of the script by repeatedly spitting directly at her.
Unfortunately, Raquel claims the rest of the cast and crew found Amanda’s reaction humorous and did nothing to help Raquel in the uncomfortable situation.
“Everybody thought it was so funny. Everybody’s laughing, but I did not find it funny. The third time, I was infuriated,” Bolleau recalled. “Like, I was so mad that the director hurried and put me on the side of the set and was like, ‘Listen, Raquel. Breathe in. Breathe out. She’s the star of the show.’”
Amanda Revealed She’s Working Towards Being A Manicurist
While Amanda has been quiet about Raquel’s comments, she remains active on social media, including offering her following an update about her current career objectives. Though she tried launching her own podcast earlier this year, before ultimately pausing it, Amanda says she’s now working towards becoming a manicurist.
“Since I haven’t passed the board exam yet to get my manicurist license, I started back at school to study manicurist theory and to practice doing acrylics before I take the test again,” she announced on X (formerly Twitter. “So I’ll be good to go when I get a job at a nail salon.”
She made a similar admission last year, saying she wanted to get into the beauty industry. “I was actually surprised [at the success] and of course was going to keep going after friends encouraged me to,” Amanda said at the time. “After thinking about it, though, I would rather get my manicurist license and have a consistent job. I’m going to follow that path instead. Thank you for following my journey!” It’s unclear how far along Bynes is in her journey to become a manicurist.
