Ariana Biermann has opened up about the evolving family dynamics as her parents, Kroy Biermann and Kim Zolciak, go through a heated divorce and custody dispute.
In an exclusive conversation with Us Weekly, the 24-year-old Next Gen NYC star revealed that while she isn’t frequently in touch with her father, 40, she has made attempts to maintain a connection.
“I tried for quite some time,” Ariana shared with Us. “I sincerely hope for his healing during this period, but our conversations have mostly been about arranging visits with my siblings.”
The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star, 48, and the ex-NFL linebacker are entrenched in a bitter separation after more than ten years of marriage, following their wedding in November 2011. The couple shares four children: Kroy Jr., 15, Kash, 13, and 12-year-old twins Kaia and Kane. Kroy also adopted Kim’s two daughters, Brielle, 29, and Ariana, soon after their marriage.
Ariana admitted to inadvertently taking sides in the ongoing divorce conflict between Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann. “It’s tough for anyone whose parents are divorcing,” she told People in an interview published on Saturday, July 12. “I cherish the love my parents shared, despite what others might think.”
Kim and Kroy filed for divorce in April 2023, but called it off in July. Their reconciliation was short-lived as he submitted a second divorce filing that August.
More recently, Kroy was granted temporary custody of the former couple’s four minor children in May. The exes continue to share joint legal custody of the kids, although he has the final say on educational, non-emergency medical and religious decisions for the time being.
Kim later filed for an emergency hearing, alleging that Kroy was not properly caring for their children and would let them go hungry at times while they were in his custody. Her allegations came to light after Kroy accused his ex of being “both unstable and unfit” as a parent. In his filing, Kroy claimed Kim “is more selfishly concerned with her own image and her work options than with the opinions of experts and/or the best interest of the children.”
Ariana told Us that Kim will continue to fight for her kids “literally [to] her very last breath, she is not going to ever back down.”
“That’s why it’s been a freaking three-year process, or whatever we’re at now, and who knows what the road ahead, how much longer it’s going to be, totally,” Ariana added.

Ariana recently weathered a breakup of her own following her split from Hudson McLeroy in October 2025, revealing that she has been embracing solo time after being in a relationship for three years.
“I learned so much about myself, things I did wrong in the relationship that I didn’t see, and just kind of like things I would have never learned had I not gone through that and been by myself,” she told Us. “I feel like it’s a crucial part of being like 24 and being alone and experiencing that part of your life.”
